E-mail this pageAmerican Red Cross first aid, CPR and AED programs are designed to give you the confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life. Additional training in bloodborne pathogens, oxygen administration and injury prevention can be added to CPR and first aid training to prepare you to prevent and respond to life-threatening emergencies.
Red Cross first aid, CPR and AED programs are available for any age and can be tailored to the needs of specific groups and individuals. Whether you work with children, want training for employees, are a professional rescuer, or simply want to know how to help someone in an emergency, the American Red Cross has a program for you. Types of Courses:
- For Your Community - From CPR, first aid and automated external defibrillator (AED) training to injury prevention courses, bloodborne pathogens training and community disaster education, you can team up with the most trusted name in health and safety training for nearly a century - the American Red Cross. To meet the needs of Central Florida businesses, our Red Cross will tailor our training to fit your workplace needs.
- For Professional Rescuers - Our professional rescuer courses are designed for people who have a job-related duty to respond in an emergency. This includes nurses, law enforcement and EMS personnel, fire fighters, business and industry response teams, lifeguards, flight attendants, and others who must take action in emergency situations.
- Basic Aid Training (B.A.T.):
Thousands of young Central Florida scouts trying to meet first aid training requirements, particularly those in the Boy Scout Weblos program, will go "batty" over this version of Basic Aid Training or B.A.T., for third and fourth graders. Participants can meet "Ready Man" badge requirements in one, six-hour class with activities and games that make safety-learning fun. Topics include care for choking, bleeding and breathing emergencies; poisoning; burns; shock; car safety; water safety; water rescue; and avoiding drugs and other harmful substances.

This 6.5 hour course teaches individuals to respond to sudden illness and injuries; breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults; use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); and first aid. Meets OSHA requirements.

This 6-hour course teaches individuals to treat common injuries among children from birth to 12 years of age. Learn accident prevention, safety tips, and how to perform rescue breathing and CPR for infant and children. This course is recommended for parents, babysitters, nannies, grade school teachers and staff, and anyone who has frequent contact with infants and young children.
